12 Days Kenya Classic Safari

12 days Kenya Classic Safari offers you the most magical experience in Kenya, taking you on a visit to Kenya’s classic safari attractions and destinations, including Amboseli National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park, Lake Naivasha, Nairobi City, and Maasai Mara National Reserve.

The 12-day Kenya classic safari promises an abundance of wildlife sightings, including elephants, lions, cape buffaloes, cheetahs, wildebeests, Thomson Grant’s gazelles, and African wild dogs, among others.

Day 1: Nairobi-Amboseli National Park.

Upon arrival in Nairobi at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative and the guide, who will give you a briefing about the 12-day classic Kenya safari. You will then set off on a journey to Amboseli National Park, taking approximately 56 hours. Amboseli is a great Kenya wildlife destination with fantastic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain on the African continent and large herds of elephants with impressive tusks.

Arrive in the park in time for lunch, which you will have after checking into your lodge and then go for an afternoon game drive to explore the park. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park.

Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park with packed lunch for a full-day game drive, giving you ample time to explore the park on the morning and afternoon game drives. During your exploration, you will be able to see big cats—lions, leopards, over 600 species of birds, and other animals such as elephants, cape buffaloes, wildebeests, gazelles, and African wild dogs, among others.  You will spend the full day in the park and return to your lodge in the afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 3&4: Transfer from Amboseli to Tsavo.

After breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge and drive to Tsavo West, taking about 2 hours driving through the wilderness and having a stop at the Shetani lava flows. Upon arrival in the park, you will have a short drive as you head to the lodge, check in, and have lunch.

After lunch, you will head out for a late afternoon game drive on which you will be able to see many animals, including red elephants, lions, gazelles, zebras, antelopes, leopards, and African wild dogs, among others. During your Kenya safari in Tsavo West National Park, you will have the opportunity to visit the Mzima Springs, and you will spend the next day exploring the park through morning and afternoon game drives.

Day 5: Drive from Tsavo to Nairobi

Have breakfast, checkout of your lodge and back to Nairobi city. You will have lunch along the way and arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon. Check into your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Nairobi City Tour.

After breakfast, you’ll travel to Nairobi City to spend the day sightseeing and exploring a variety of fascinating locations, such as the elephant orphanage, where you can interact with the rescued baby elephants undergoing rehabilitation before their release back into the wild.

You will visit the historical Karen Blixen Coffee House for lunch, followed by a brief visit to the Karen Blixen Museum. Finally, you will conclude your visit at the Giraffe Centre, where you will have the opportunity to interact and feed the rare Rothschild giraffes. The centre is a breeding program for the rare Rothschild giraffe, which can only be found in small numbers in the wild.

Dinner and overnight stay at Golden Tulip.

Day 7: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park.

After early breakfast, you will depart Nairobi city for Lake Nakuru National Park, a famous destination for pink flamingoes and a home of rhinos. The park hosts over 400 bird species, including the flamingoes and large numbers of pelicans. There is also the rare Rothschild giraffe, zebra, buffalo, waterbuck, and lions.

After lunch, you can enjoy magnificent views of Lake Nakuru during a game drive. At sunset, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Lake Nakuru NP—Lake Naivasha.

After breakfast, you will head out for a morning game drive as you exit the park, heading to Lake Naivasha, situated in the Rift Valley, and arrive at lunch. After lunch, you will head to the lake for a boat experience where you will see hippos and several bird species, including fish eagles and pelicans. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve.

After breakfast, you will depart Lake Nakuru National Park and head to Maasai Mara National Reserve on a drive of approximately 4-5 hours. You will arrive in the reserve at lunchtime, which you will have at your lodge, and in the afternoon, you will go for a game drive searching for animals such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and wildebeests, among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10 & 11: Game Drives—Maasai Mara.

For the two days of the 12-day Kenya Classic safari, you will explore the endless plains of Maasai Mara National Reserve on game drives and an optional hot air balloon. Some of the animals you should expect to see during the game drives include cheetahs, elephants, lions, cape buffaloes, rhinos, and hartebeests, among others. On these days you will either have lunch at your lodge or picnic lunch. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Maasai Mara-Nairobi

After having breakfast, you will go for an early morning game drive, exit the reserve, and drive to Nairobi, where you will be dropped off either at your hotel or at the airport.
