13 days of water rafting and Uganda wildlife safari : The 13-day Uganda Safari holiday takes you to some of Africa’s most iconic natural wonders in Uganda.

Day 1: Airport pick up—Hotel

Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to a hotel in either Entebbe or Kampala, depending on the time of arrival. Check-in at your hotel for an overnight stay at Papyrus Guesthouse for budget/Best Western Garden Hotel for mid-range or in Kampala at Forest Cottages for budget/Fairway Hotel for mid-range/Skyz Hotel for luxury.

Day 2: Transfer to Jinja via Kampala—visit the source of the Nile

After breakfast, you will be met by our company representative and transferred to Jinja town, which is about 3-4 hours’ drive from Entebbe airport, depending on road traffic. Upon arrival, check-in at your reserved hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. Jinja Nile Resort for luxury/2 Friends Guesthouse for mid-range/Jinja Base Camp for budget

Day 3: Whitewater Rafting

After breakfast, meet your driver and connect for a water rafting experience on the Nile; it’s a full-day activity. You will first report for a briefing, then be provided with rafting gear for the activity. After rafting, return to your hotel for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at the lodge as above.

Day 4: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park—Top of the Falls Tour

After breakfast in the morning, we will pick you up and transport you to Murchison Falls National Park. It’s a 6-7 hour’ drive with an en route lunch break. Enter the park via Kichumbanyobo gate and proceed to visit the top of the falls and the Bakers Trail before you proceed to your lodge for check-in, dinner, and an overnight stay at Parkside Safari Lodge for budget/Pukaba Safari Lodge for mid-range/Paraa Safari Lodge for luxury option.

Day 5: Game drive and launch cruise—Murchison Falls

After enjoying an early morning breakfast, you will embark on a game drive, during which you will have the opportunity to observe a variety of animal species such as elephants, giraffes, lions, and Uganda kobs. In the afternoon, you will embark on a launch cruise that takes you to the park’s main tourist attraction, the unique Murchison Falls, and the River Nile, which is home to a multitude of hippopotamus and crocodiles slithering along the sandbanks, as well as numerous other species that come to drink and bathe. Dinner and overnight as above

Day 6: Rhino trekking; transfer to Kibale National Park; Bigodi nature walk

After breakfast, drive to Ziwa rhino sanctuary, which is the only home for the rhinos in Uganda. Upon arrival, you will be briefed about the tracking experience and spend about 2–5 hours looking and watching the rhinos.

After lunch, continue your journey for 5-6 hours to Kibale National Park, one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. Upon arrival, proceed to your lodge for check-in, dinner, and an overnight stay at Chimpanzee Guest House for mid-range/Isunga Lodge for budget/Crater Safari Lodge for luxury on a full-board basis.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking—Bigodi walk and community tour

After breakfast, you will go for chimpanzee trekking with your packed food and water. Meet your guide at the head office, then enter the rainforest to start searching for the chimpanzee. This will take 2–5 hours to find the chimpanzees. On seeing them, you will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees while taking pictures.

Later in the afternoon, take a drive to Bigodi Swamp for a nature walk where you can spot various birds and primates. Additionally, visit the community to gain a deeper understanding of the local people and their culture. Return to your lodge with a Crater Lakes visit, dinner, and overnight at the lodge as above.

Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park—lion tracking/game drive and afternoon boat cruise

After early morning breakfast, set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is a 3-hour’ drive arriving late this morning. Upon arrival, connect for a late morning game drive. Enjoy a lions tracking experience to increase your chances of spotting some of the animals in the Kasenyi sector, including elephants, buffaloes, leopards, lions, and all species of antelopes.

Connect to your booked lodge for check-in and lunch, then connect for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel for yet another wildlife/bird watching experience as you cruise on Lake Edward/George.  Dinner and overnight stay at Elephant Plains Lodge for luxury/Elephant Hub Lodge for midrange/Pumba Safari Cottages for budget

Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha Sector

After breakfast early in the morning, you drive to Bwindi, stopping for lunch en route, and visit the Ishasha sector for the chance to see the tree-climbing lions. Accommodation will be provided depending on your trekking sector. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Community Rest Camp for budget/Buhoma Haven Lodge mid-range option/Mahogany Springs Lodge for luxury

 Day 10: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Have an early morning breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the ranger guides before embarking on your gorilla trek. Head into the forest and trek until you find the gorillas. Gorilla trekking can take 2 to 8 hours, depending on the movement of the gorillas. After finding the gorillas in Bwindi, you will be allowed only 1 hour and then return. Your driver or guide will drive you back to your hotel to relax and spend another night as above.

Day 11: Explore Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, take a 2-hour drive to Lake Bunyonyi and embark on a canoe ride to explore the lake. This is the place to relax after all the hiking experience. Lake Bunyonyi is the second deepest lake in Africa, with about 29 islands, such as the punishment island, Bushara, Bwama, and Njuyeera islands, to mention a few.

Steep terraced hillsides surround the lake, and best of all, unlike other lakes, Lake Bunyonyi is Bilharzia, hippo and crocodile-free, with crystal-clear waters ideal for swimming.

After lunch, you can either relax at the lodge, go for optional zip-lining at your own cost or do any other interesting activity of your choice. Return to relax at the lodge with great views of the hills and the lake. Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park—game drive

Early morning, you will have breakfast and drive to Lake Mburo National Park. It is about 4-5 hours’ drive to arrive at the park at a good time for lunch. After lunch, embark on a game drive in the park to see animals such as zebras, impalas, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, giraffes, lions, leopards, and other species. Later in the evening, return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 13: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe and Departure

After breakfast, depart the lodge and embark on your journey to Kampala or Entebbe. En-route lunch in lunch and visit at the equator and refreshing, then proceed to Kampala/Entebbe. Drop off at your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe or the airport for your onwards flight marking the end of your Uganda safari.
