15 Days Uganda Safari Tour : Take on a 15 Days Uganda safari which includes gorilla trekking, wildlife and cultural experiences. Enjoy seeing gorillas, chimpanzees and big game in Uganda

Day 1: Arrival: Hotel in either Kampala or Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, you will meet our company representative/guide, who will be waiting to receive you and transfer you to either Entebbe or Kampala depending on your arrival flight time. We will transfer you to your hotel for check-in and rest after your long flight. Dinner and overnight stay at Forest Cottages/Papyrus Guesthouse for budget/Fairway Hotel/Best Western Garden Hotel for mid-range/Sheraton Hotel/Protea Hotel for luxury—half board

Day 2: Rhino tracking and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and visit top of the falls

After breakfast, depart from the hotel and embark on a 3-hour drive to the Ziwa rhino sanctuary. Upon arrival, connect for a briefing from the park rangers about the rhinos in Uganda. You will also be guided through the rules to be followed when tracking rhinos. Connect to the rhinos’ starting point and walk for approximately 2-3 hours, depending on their location. Once you find the rhinos, spend an hour with them before returning, have lunch at Kabalenga Dinners en route, and then proceed to Murchison Falls National Park.

After arriving at the park in the afternoon, take a walk along Bakers Trail to explore the top of the Murchison Falls, which offers the best views of the falls. Thereafter, connect to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at Twiga Safari Lodge/Pakuba Safari Lodge for midrange/Hornbill Bush Lodge for budget.

Day 3: Morning game drive, boat cruise, and evening game drive

Early morning, after breakfast at your lodge, embark on a morning game drive in the northern part of the park to the delta. This is where you may spot various animal species like elephants, giraffes, lions, hyenas, cape buffaloes, leopards (on a lucky day), and different species of antelopes, including the Uganda Kobs, Jackson hartebeest, Oribi, and waterbucks, among others. After the game drive, return to your lodge to refresh and have lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go on a boat cruise to see the magnificent falls along the Nile. As you cruise along the bottom of the falls, you will be exposed to the park’s streaming hippo and serried ranges of crocodiles along the sandbanks, different bird species, and large numbers of different species coming down to drink and bathe. After the boat cruise, return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Drive to Kibale National Park (7-8 hours)

After breakfast, transfer to Kibale National Park. Upon arrival with en-route lunch, visit the crater lakes, then proceed to check-in at your lodge for relaxation. Spend your day at leisure. Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp walk and community tour

After breakfast, drive to Kibale Forest Park head offices for a briefing about the chimpanzees. Step into the forest to begin trekking the chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Once you locate them, you have an hour to observe their behavior as they swing from the branches high above the forest floor.

Later, connect for a nature walk at Bigodi Swamp Walk. The reserve is abundant with butterflies, plants, and animals—in particular birds and primates. Spectacular birds like the Great Blue Turaco and the rare Papyrus gonolek will be of great interest to birders. The swamp is also home to more elusive animals, such as Red Colobus monkeys and Sitatunga antelope. You will also have the opportunity to visit local community projects that have been financed by tourism and interact with the community. Drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at the lodge as above.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park—Boot cruise on the Kazinga channel

After your breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It’s a 3-hour’ drive, arriving at a good time for lunch. Have lunch at the lodge.

Later in the afternoon, embark on a 2-hour launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward. This cruise will take you through an area with the highest concentration of hippos, and you may also witness numerous animals drinking at the water’s edge. The cruise also offers a good platform for photography, bird watching, and games. Day 7: Kasenyi morning game drive

After your breakfast, you will set off on an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi area, where you will also encounter other animals like buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, and other types of antelopes. On a lucky day, you will sight the leopards, lions, and hyenas.

Return for lunch at the lodge and spend your afternoon at leisure, relaxing at the lodge or going for a crater lakes tour around the park. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above

Day 8: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (4-5 hours’ drive)

After breakfast, depending on your tracking sector, meet your driver to depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, check-in at your lodge and spend your afternoon/evening at leisure as you prepare for your next day activity. Dinner and spend a night at Buhoma Community Rest Camp for budget/Buhoma Haven Lodge for mid-range/Mahogany Springs Lodge for luxury

Day 9: Gorilla trekking experience

Have breakfast and we will transfer you to the park offices for a briefing about mountain gorilla trekking by a local guide. The time taken is usually between 2 and 8 hours, depending on the movement of the gorillas. Meeting the gorillas unexpectedly is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures at very close range. You will observe adults feeding and groaning among themselves. After an hour with the long-awaited gorillas, your guide and rangers will lead you back to the starting point, where your driver will readily be waiting to transfer you back to the lodge. Depending on the time you return from the trekking activity, you may do an optional community tour. Have dinner and overnight stay as lodged above.

Day 10: Transfer to Kisoro-Mgahinga National Park

After breakfast, you will embark on a Batwa community tour, after which you will travel to Kisoro, which offers breathtaking views of the Kigezi hills. Check in at your lodge for lunch. Day 11: Volcano climbing/Golden Monkeys—Mgahinga National Park

Wake up early and drive to Mgahinga National Park for a briefing from your ranger guides about the hike. The park is located on Mount Gahinga, one of the 8 Virunga mountains, with the lowest height of about 3,474 m. The hike is between 6 and 8 hours’ hike, depending on your fitness. You will hike through the bamboo cover; if luck is on your side, you may encounter the golden monkeys and the gorillas. Reaching the top is so fulfilling and interesting as you enjoy the cool air and the breeze from the giant lobelia in the carter swamp. You will then return to your starting point to meet your driver and go back to your lodge to rest.

Alternatively, you can do the golden monkey trekking activity on the same mountain. The activity takes 2–6 hours, depending on the location of the golden monkeys. On finding them, spend an hour with the monkeys before you return to meet your driver to drive back to the lodge.

Day 12: All day at Lake Bunyonyi

On this day, after you enjoy your breakfast, you will set off to Lake Bunyonyi to chill and relax. This is a 2-hour’ drive, arriving in Bunyonyi late in the morning. The lake is located between Kisoro and Kabale in south-western Uganda, close to the border with Rwanda. It’s believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa, with a depth between 44 m and 900m and it’s about 7 to 25 km wide.

Take a boat trip to some of the fascinating islands on the lake—Kyahugye Island, where you will find some wildlife, including the zebras, waterbucks, impalas, and kobs. Explore Akampeine Island, a punishment island where the Bwama, pregnant, unmarried girls, and missionary Dr. Leonard Sharp founded a leper colony. Day 13: Transfer to Mbarara-Ankole Cultural Tour

After breakfast, meet your driver and be transferred to Mbarara, which is a 4-5 hour’s drive from Kibale. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel for lunch.

After relaxing in the afternoon, later in the evening, join us for a cultural experience of the Ankole culture, where you will participate in grazing and milking cattle, and gain a deep understanding of the Ankole culture of Uganda. Have dinner and rest of the day. Dinner and overnight stay at Emburara Lodge

Day 14: Morning game viewing in Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, connect to Lake Mburo National Park; enter the park and connect for a morning game drive. Expect to see animals like the Zebras, Elands, Impalas, Topis, and Buffaloes, lions, giraffes, etc. Have en route lunch.

After your lunch, embark on your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe. It’s a 4-hour’ drive with an en-route stop at the Uganda Equator and upon arrival, check-in at your booked hotel for dinner and an overnight stay at Forest Cottages/Papyrus Guesthouse for budget/Fairway Hotel/Best Western Garden Hotel for mid-range/Sheraton Hotel/Protea Hotel for luxury—half board.

Day 15: Departure

After breakfast, and depending on your departure flight, stay at the lodge and spend your day at leisure. You will be dropped off at your check-in time for your flight at Entebbe airport.
