Detailed Itinerary of a 5-Day Tanzania Wildlife and Cultural Safari
Day 1: Arrival, Serval Wildlife Visit
Your Tanzania safari guide shall pick you up at the airport upon arrival and welcome you for your Tanzania safari tour. He will provide you with a brief overview of your Tanzania safari tour before driving you to the Serval Wildlife Sanctuary, which is located in the Siha district of Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. The sanctuary is home to a variety of animals, including lions, monkeys, giraffes, elands, zebras, and ostriches. This tour offers unforgettable interactions with these free-roaming animals, giving you the opportunity to feed them, take pictures with them up close, and sometimes even touch them if you’re not afraid.

Day 2: Drive to Tarangire National Park, Game Drive
After breakfast, you will check out of your accommodation and prepare to drive into the Tarangeri National Park, located in the northern part of Tanzania, along with your packed lunch. The drive will take approximately 2 hours, and along the way, you will see the beautiful scenery of Tanzania’s landscape and the local people as they go about their daily lives. The Tarangire National Park is known for having large herds of elephants as well as ancient baobab trees.
After your game drive in the Tarangire National Park, your guide will drive you to your accommodation for check-in, dinner, and an overnight stay, while you prepare for the third day of your 5-day Tanzania safari tour. You will see gazelles, impalas, zebras, waterbucks, and the park’s famous birds during your game drive, and your guide will drive you to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Hadzabe and Datoga Cultural Tour
Early morning departure for a unique cultural experience with the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes.
Visit the Hadzabe community, one of the last remaining hunters-gatherer tribes in Africa. Learn about their traditional hunting techniques, gather around the campfire, and participate in activities like archery. If you arrive early enough, you can also depart with them as they are heading to hunt.
Next, visit the Datoga tribe, known for their metalworking skills. Witness traditional blacksmithing and jewellery-making techniques.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater and Maasai Boma Visit
After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (approximately 30 minutes). Descend into the crater for a full-day game drive, where you’ll have the chance to spot the Big Five and other wildlife in their natural habitat.
Enjoy a picnic lunch within the crater, surrounded by stunning scenery and abundant wildlife. In the afternoon, visit a traditional Maasai Boma (village) near the crater rim. Day 5: Lake Manyara Treetop Walkway and Departure
After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park (approximately 30 minutes’ drive). Arrive at Lake Manyara and embark on a treetop walkway adventure. Walk along suspended bridges through the canopy of the forest, offering a unique perspective of the wildlife and birdlife below.

Treetop Walkway
This 370-meter airwalk starts with a short boardwalk that gradually rises from ground level up through the canopy of the forest. You walk over a series of suspension bridges with thick netting on the sides and reach a height of 18 meters off the ground. Each of the bridges ends on a viewing deck situated around tree trunks. These treetop platforms are perfect places to stop and enjoy life in the canopy amongst butterflies, monkeys, and birds.
During this walk, guides will share fascinating details about the flora and fauna of Lake Manyara, providing you with a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape. This is Tanzania’s first treetop walkway and one of the longest in Africa. This is a great outdoor activity for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
