5 Days Volcanoes and Nyungwe Primates Safari : This Rwanda safari takes you to Volcanoes national park and Nyungwe national to explore primates such mountain gorillas , chimpanzee among others.

Day 1: Pickup from Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

Your driver guide will pick you up from Kigali International Airport upon your arrival. After a brief meet and greet session, you will be briefed on your safari, have lunch in Kigali and then proceed with your 3-hour’ drive to Volcanoes National Park. Upon your arrival at the park, you will visit Ibyi’wacu village for a cultural tour.

Later, you will check in at your lodge and refresh up. Dinner and overnight stay at Tiloreza Volcanoes Eco Lodge (Midrange)/Mount View Gorilla Lodge (Luxury)

Day 2: Gorilla Trek

Breakfast will be served early. The briefing is at 7 am. Your guide will provide you with highlights and specific details about the way of life of the gorillas you will be tracking. The hike can take anything from one to seven hours.

Trekking through the steep, bamboo slopes and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment. Once you arrive at the gorillas, you can spend an hour with them from a distance of 6 meters. After completing this magical encounter, you will reconnect with your driver or guide and proceed to your lodge for lunch and refreshment. Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park (about 7 hours drive)

Wake up to a tasty breakfast, check out of your hotel and embark on your transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park with a stopover for lunch en route. Dinner and overnight stay at Gisakura Visitor Centre (Budget)/Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel (Midrange).

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trek and Canopy Walk

Enjoy breakfast and go for a briefing before entering the forest. Search for the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe Forest. The chimpanzee treks in Nyungwe Park begin at 5 a.m., so you should arrive at the park’s briefing point early and make sure to bring a packed lunch from the lodge. The chimpanzees are easy to spot as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimp tracking usually takes about 4 hours or more, depending on the location of the chimps. Once you have located the chimps, you will be given an hour to spend with the chimps.

5 Days Volcanoes and Nyungwe Primates Safari — Canopy walk

After lunch, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk, a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s-eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you.

Later, drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay, same as above. Gisakura Visitor Centre (Budget)/Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel (Midrange).

Day 5: Transfer Back to Kigali

Wake up at leisure and have a relaxed breakfast meal at the lodge. Later, ensure you check out punctually, meet up with your driver guide, and embark on your return journey to Kigali, making a stopover visit to the former King’s palace in Nyanza and the national museum in Butare, while enjoying lunch en route. Upon your arrival in Kigali, your driver guide will drop you off at your hotel or Kigali international airport for your flight.
