Day 1: Pick up from Nairobi and transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

Upon arrival in Jomo Kenyatta International Airport/depending on your location in Nairobi City, you will be met by our safari guide to transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park, which is a 5-6 hour’ drive with en-route lunch. Proceed to enter the park in the afternoon and connect for the afternoon/evening game drive. Lake Nakuru is best known for its large masses of flamingo birds and home to the famous black and white rhinos. Thereafter, connect to check-in your lodge to rest. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Lodge for mid-range/Ziwa Bush Lodge for budget

Day 2: Full day Nakuru National Park

Get up early, relish your breakfast, and embark on a morning game drive in the park. Subsequently, take a stroll along the shores to witness the numerous wild animals in the park, particularly the Black Rhino, White Rhino, and Rothschild Giraffe. Here you will have the chance to look out at some of the common species, like the Lesser and Greater Flamingos, African Fish Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Green Wood Hoopoes, Cliff Chat, Great White, and Pink Backed Pelicans, plus other intra-African migrants. During the game drive, you will have the opportunity to spot animals such as lions, leopards, hyenas, and various antelope species. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to explore the park’s wildlife, including black and white rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, and zebras. Return later afternoon/evening at the lodge as above for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Naivasha; visit Crescent Island

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer to Lake Naivasha, which offers stunning views of the Great Rift Valley upon arrival. It’s a 2-hour’ drive. Check-in at your reserved hotel for lunch, and later in the afternoon, visit Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, a peninsula or island on the eastern side of Lake Naivasha. A short boat trip from the mainland out into Lake Naivasha gives you access to the unique Crescent Island Wildlife Sanctuary, which hosts giraffes, waterbucks, elands, wildebeests, zebras, and impalas. It is also a haven for more than 200 species of birds. The lake has a lot of hippos, which you can easily spot from the island. Among the resident birds are fish eagles, ospreys, lily-trotters, black crakes, and a variety of herons. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at Enashipia Resort and Spa.

Day 4: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve—Evening game drive—about 4-5 hours

After breakfast, thereafter, across the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Masai Mara Game Reserve, the unspoiled Savannah. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours. Masai Mara, located in neighbouring Tanzania, is the northern part of the Great Plains ecosystem, bordering the Serengeti National Ark. It is home to the big five games, including the lion, buffalo, rhino, leopard, and elephant, as well as cheetah, zebra, giraffe, and vast herds of plain antelope, among numerous other wildlife species.

Upon arrival, have lunch, then connect for an afternoon game drive in search of the big five. As the sun starts to dip into the horizon, it will be the perfect time to photograph the beautiful Mara rolling plains. Don’t forget this is the right time to spot the shy leopard.  Day 5: Masai Mara full-day game viewing

After breakfast, a full day in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents, During the migration season, which spans from early July to end September, the Masai Mara plains teem with wildebeest, accompanied by zebra, impala, topi, giraffe, Thomson’s gazelle, as well as leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, and bat-eared foxes. Black rhinos are a little shy and hard to spot but are often seen at a distance if you are lucky. Hippos are abundant in the Mara River, as are very large Nile crocodiles, which lay in wait for a meal as the wildebeest cross on their annual quest to find new pastures. Later meals and overnight at the lodge as above

Day 6: Another day—full day in Masai Mara and community tour

After breakfast, you will head to the plains of the reserve for the final morning game drive, spotting more animals. After the game drive, you will head back to your lodge for lunch, and in the afternoon, you will head to the Maasai village/Masai Loita Hills for a cultural experience. During this experience, you will gain a deeper understanding of the Maasai culture through interactions with the local Maasai people, entertainment from local dancers, drama, and Maasai warriors, the purchase of local Maasai items like Shukas, exquisitely crafted accessories like necklaces and earrings, and the tasting of local cuisines. After the experience, you will head back to your lodge, have dinner, and stay overnight at the lodge as above.

Optional activity: hot air balloon: wake up early and be picked up by the air balloon team for your hot air balloon safari, which starts in the early morning, just in time for sunrise. For about an hour, you will be floating peacefully above the ground, with a bird’s-eye view of the African bush below. The capacity for this activity is limited, making this a very special and exclusive experience. Breakfast will be provided and thereafter, connect back to the lodge.

Day 7: Transfer back to Nairobi—Departures

After morning breakfast at your lodge, you will checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey back to Nairobi, where you will be dropped off at a location you advise or be dropped off at the airport for your onwards flight back home.
