Rooms and amenities at Bwindi Lodge
Bwindi Lodge currently features 10 stunning hand-built Guest Bandas that overlook the verdant Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and these include 8 Standard Bandas and 2 Deluxe Bandas. These rooms are in double or twin room configurations with a private terrace that overlooks the Impenetrable Forest, an en-suite bathroom with a flushing toilet, a shower and double vanity, fireplace, large mosquito-draped beds, a writing desk and chair, a spacious seating area for relaxing while reading a book or sipping wine, and a private bathroom in each of the rooms.
The two Deluxe Bandas were recently launched (in 2021) while the 8 Standard Bandas have been rebuilt and upgraded to their current chic look. Endless jaw-dropping views are guaranteed from all the 10 Bandas at the Lodge.
Facilities and services at Bwindi Lodge
The new spa and sauna room (referred to as Humula mw ’Ishamba) at Bwindi Lodge was opened in 2018 to provide different kinds of massage treatments. Guests are entitled to a 50-minute complimentary massage per stay while any extra massages cost $50 per person (50 minutes) and is subject to availability.
The Library and Lounge at the Lodge have been re-imagined to provide guests with wildlife and African destinations’ information during their stay.
The Award-winning Bwindi Bar is a must-visit place during your stay at Bwindi Lodge because guests have an opportunity to enjoy informal tapas-style meals that have been inspired by different Ugandan cuisines. Harry’s Bar of Bwindi prepares some of the most delicious rolex wraps and delicious “Gorillini” cocktails, an unmissable treat after an unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It is interesting to note that this Bar is one of the many successful projects by the “Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust” that trails the disadvantaged youth of the surrounding local villages in hospitality.
Private and personal Butler service is provided to all guests hence all needs and aspirations are well-taken care of.
Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided at the main Lodge area, while power sockets/charging facilities and hair dryers are provided in all the Bandas.
Activities enjoyed by guests
Bwindi Lodge is a comfortable base for visitors interested in gorilla trekking and is only 10-minutes’ walk from the starting point of Buhoma sector gorilla trekking adventures.
Also, guests interested in forest walks/hiking, especially walking along the Munyanga River Trail can stay at the Lodge.
Other activities that are possible while staying at Bwindi Lodge include tea plantation tours, birding tours around the Lodge and inside the Park, tours of the famous Bwindi Community Hospital, visits to Dr. Gladys’ Conservation through Public Health Center, and visits to the Batwa pygmy communities.
