Rooms and amenities at Snow Heights Lodge

Snow Heights Lodge has 4 spacious River Stone Cottages that are incredibly designed to naturally blend in with the stunning surroundings, and each of these cottages features an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold shower, wooden furnishings, and big windows that provide jaw-dropping views of the stunning Rwenzori Mountains.

The cottages also have wooden decks that are perfect for unwinding while enjoying the beautiful views and sounds of chirping birds. These cottages have beautiful stone bathtubs, showers with cold/hot running water, stone sinks, clean towels, and eco-friendly flushing toilets.

Other facilities and services provided at the Lodge

The main building area has River-stone walls and a fireplace. This is where the restaurant area is found and guests can enjoy meals in a spacious and comfortable environment.

The bar is also found in the main lodge area. The Lodge’s main building, lounge, and restaurant areas carry so much history of the Rwenzori Mountains with various historical illustrations.

Things/activities to do while staying at Snow Heights Lodge

Mountain climbing is the main activity undertaken by Snow Heights Lodge guests with a number of trails leading to the highest peak (Margherita) at 5109 meters above sea level.

Enjoy guided forest walks in Rwenzori Mountains National Park with chances of sighting the rare three-horned chameleons, forest elephants, bushbucks, leopards, giant forest hogs, duikers, the Angola Colobus monkeys, the black and white colobus monkeys, and lots of birds- such as the Rwenzori batis, barred long-tailed Cuckoo, the chested bee-eaters, Archer’s Robin-chat, Rwenzori Turaco, and the handsome francolins among others.

Birding tours within Rwenzori Mountains National Park are also enjoyed by Snow Heights Lodge guests and some of the species to look out for include the Scarlet-tufted Malachite sunbirds, the white-naped pigeons, Rwenzori Turacos, Lagden’s Bush shrike, the Archer’s Robin-chat, to mention but a few.

Cultural tours are possible while staying at the Lodge, with an opportunity to visit Ruboni Village to interact with the traditional healer, the blacksmith, and the Village storyteller.
