Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Your guide will pick you up at the airport in Zanzibar and transfer you to your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. Depending on your time of arrival, you may enjoy touring the hotel and becoming familiar with your surroundings.

Day 2: Stone Town, Prison Island, and Spice Tour

You will also take a private boat from Stone Town to Changuu Island, also known as Prison Island, where you can enjoy seeing the giant tortoises and snorkeling during your island tour. You will take a boat back from Changuu Island back to Stone Town. On this day, you will also participate in a spice tour, exploring the plantations where you will encounter various exotic spices and learn about their uses, including cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg, among others. After the spice tour, you will return to your hotel for dinner and to spend the night as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Selous Game Reserve, Game Drive, and Boat Cruise

After an early breakfast at the hotel, head out for an early morning ferry trip to Dar es Salaam. You shall be met by your guide at the harbor. After a short briefing, transfer to Selous Game Reserve, the largest of its nature, clad with your picnic lunch.

Enjoy a game drive in Selous, looking out for various wild game, including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and antelopes, among so many others. After your picnic lunch, get to discover the Rufiji River on a boat ride. While on a boat safari on the Rufiji River, look out for animals like hippos and crocodiles, as well as bird species.

Thereafter, proceed to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Game Drive and Walking Safari, Transfer to Mikumi National Park

Selous is roughly the size of Switzerland with unexploited African wilderness and rolling savanna plains. Later in the late afternoon hours, you shall enjoy a guided walking safari through the plains of the park for an opportunity to come up-close with nature and wildlife. Proceed thereafter for a transfer to Mikumi National Park, arriving in time for dinner. Check in, relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay at Camp Bastian.

Day 5: Game Drive, Drive to Dar es Salaam

We begin with an early morning game drive in Mikumi, then back to the lodge for breakfast. With a packed lunch, proceed for a transfer back to Dar es Salaam. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Dar.

Day 6: Transfer to Arusha

By Road: About 10-11 Hours. Flight option available

Proceed for an early morning transfer to Arusha, with lunch and necessary stops along the way. Get to enjoy the Tanzanian countryside. Arrive later in the evening in Arusha. Dinner and overnight stay at Masai Land Safari Lodge.

Day 7: Tarangire National Park Game Drive

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and welcome you for the safari. Thereafter you shall start your journey to Tarangire National Park, the third largest national park in Tanzania with huge herds of elephants and baobab trees. You will engage in a game drive around the national park as you look out for various wildlife species, such as elephants, zebras, cheetahs, lions, buffalo, leopards, and cheetahs, among others.
