Ziwa rhino sanctuary is the most popular safari destination on a Uganda safari, the destination is popularly known for the conservation of the white rhinos in Uganda. This was setup during 2005. The main aim to why the sanctuary was put in place is to protect and conserve the rhinos, that is after the killing of the rhinos were killed in Murchison falls national park during 1983. Ziwa rhino sanctuary is a private conservation project in Uganda for the endangered animal species.

Ziwa Rhino sanctuary therefore came in the existence during 2005 where the rhinos survived and their lives were saved in Uganda, the sanctuary was the project supported by the rhino fund Uganda that as well introduced the black rhinos in Uganda. The sanctuary started with 6 rhinos in 2005, later became 19 in 2015, and currently the rhinos in Ziwa rhino sanctuary are over than 22 that attracts various tourists in the sanctuary to track the rhinos. The project that conserves the rhinos in Uganda at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary is under Uganda Wildlife Authority, which works hand in hand with the Ziwa rancher’s rhino fund of Uganda to come up with the better future and present proposals.
