What Are The Advantages Of Gorilla Trekking In The Wet Season?

What Are The Advantages Of Gorilla Trekking In The Wet Season? Gorilla trekking in the wet season has some advantages like few people during trekking in the national parks which gives you an opportunity to explore the gorilla destinations all to yourself with less crowds and also have a face to face encounter with the mountain gorillas.

  1. Last-minute gorilla permits may be available.

Although last-minute travel arrangements can occasionally be disheartening and frightening, the planning for a gorilla safari still raises some excitement, regardless of when you book.

You have a good chance of obtaining last-minute gorilla permits if you decide to go on a gorilla trekking safari during the rainy season. We are aware that permission is the only way to enter the area where gorilla trekking takes place.

Because mass tourism raises a lot of issues, gorilla permits are restricted in order to control the daily number of visitors to the forest. There is a daily cap of eight mountain gorilla licenses per family for conservation concerns.

There are currently 152 gorilla permits available in Uganda, with 19 gorilla families available for gorilla trekking. There are 96 gorilla permits and 12 gorilla families available for gorilla trekking in Rwanda right now.

The likelihood of obtaining a gorilla permit at the last minute is low due to the restricted quantity of permits available in Uganda and Rwanda and the high demand for them worldwide. Three months before the scheduled gorilla trekking date, during the dry season (typically June, July, August, September, December, and January), gorilla permits are no longer available. It is difficult to obtain gorilla permits at the last minute during the busiest season.

Gorilla permits in Uganda are issued based on a region of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park that includes the Buhoma, Nkuringo, Rushaga, and Nkuringo zones. Your permit is scheduled in an area where you must spend the night. It might only be useful if you are in that area by the day of trekking if you purchase a gorilla permit at the last minute, even if it is for a different area from where you spent the night.

  1. Prepare for an exclusive gorilla trekking adventure.

The greatest time to test your chances of going on a single gorilla hike without having to pay extra to block off the gorilla family is during the wet season, which is also Uganda’s and Rwanda’s low-tourism season.

Wet-season bookings for gorilla safaris are typically lower; therefore, those who have reservations can take advantage of this to pay less money and have fewer or no people obstructing them when they are with the mountain gorillas.

  1. Opens Chances for Limited Budget Tourists

If you would like to go gorilla trekking but are on a tight budget, the wet season is a great opportunity to reserve this gorilla safari. Although it’s not a given every year, the Rwanda Development Board and the Uganda Wildlife Authority occasionally provide promotional permits at a reduced cost. In order to break even during the low season, which coincides with the wet season, service providers such as lodges, motels, driver guides, car rental agencies, and others may lower their rates.

  1. A variety of accommodations are available.

Gorilla trekking and the majority of other safari activities in Uganda and Rwanda are typically booked by fewer tourists during the rainy season. There are numerous lodging options both inside and outside of these gorilla trekking parks for you to select from. With some companies offering discounts on their pricing during the rainy season, you can still update even on a tight budget.

In the event that we have passed this opportunity along to our clients, we at Focus East Africa Tours will give part of these reductions to them. Our more than ten years in the tourism sector have allowed us to establish excellent working relationships with several lodging establishments of all kinds, which we may offer to our clients should they need any help—especially at a reduced cost. More vistas are expanded when more individuals travel.
